About the Course:
The beautiful is that which raises our souls to contemplate God and his handiwork. Yet, in our day and age there is a starvation of the transcendent dimension of man – how many of us get caught up in the daily dredge? Inspire your imagination and be Pierced by Beauty: this 4 day workshop will introduce you to beautiful works of catholic art and culture inspired by the person of Christ.
Part of this course is theoretical in nature, displaying the catholic sensibility on the beautiful and the fine arts. But it is also practical, having creative workshops where you can learn how to sing, paint, read, or write.

– Thursday: Dr. Charles Robertson on Theology of Music in Gregorian Chant (workshop)
– Friday: Dr. Celene Sidloski on literature: The Purpose of Literature: the Catholic Imagination in the Works of Flannery O’Connor (workshop)

This is an intensive-style course: there are 11 two-hour blocks of course time, at 10:00am-12:00pm, 2:00-4:00pm, and 7:30-9:30pm daily.
