Sometimes, the Bible can be hard to understand. When we don’t know the background or the history or the backstory of the characters, it might be difficult to get a feeling for what the author is really communicating.
So Philip ran to [the eunuch] and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me? (Acts 8:30-31)

Dr. Scott Powell is a teacher, theologian and author with an amazing ability to unlock and explain the historical and social context of Scripture in a dynamic and engaging way. Dr. Powell has been featured on EWTN, “Catholic Answers Live”. He co-hosted the popular podcast “The Word on the Hill with the Lanky Guys,” and currently hosts the “Sunday School, a Pillar Bible Study” podcast. Scott is Assistant Professor of Theology at the St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver. He and his wife, Annie, founded and run a Catholic wilderness camp called Camp Wojtyla.
RECLAIM Conferences are about reclaiming our identity in Christ, the centre of meaning and life. All things flow from him – culture, spirituality, virtue… everything. This RECLAIM conference is meant to clear the bramble in our hearts and prepare the way for Christ during Lent.

We ask for a free-will donation to help us cover snack expenses and so that we can provide our volunteers with a little thank-you.
